Derailment Remains under Investigation, Tracks Cleared
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe train derailed over the weekend causing minor traffic delays but no injuries. At around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, a BNSF cargo train was traveling east of Fort Madison near Niota, Ill. when it jumped a main line track. Five train cars used to transport semi–trailers derailed between two main line tracks. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
